Pet Web Design – for Stores, Breeders, Kennels

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

If you run a pet store,  breed animals, or operate a kennel having a small informational website could put you above your competition. You don’t even have to spend a lot of money to get this type of website that easily delivers information about your business.

I have placed some Examples below that illustrates that if a couple of businesses in this area got a small informational website they would capture more audience in a short period of time.

Now you might be thinking that hear I’m going to explain that you need a massive website that you require a massive budget, well I hope I disappoint you when I say You can do this by spending approx. $400 – $600 initially and about $75 year on going for hosting and domain name.

With my Elite Web Tuning service

With either the Get Online Package or Your Identity Package,

What you do is you get to look through template websites until you find one that looks good to you (see  screen shot right), from here we add information about your business and update the images and colors as need to match your branding. With a little bit of seo just the basics will get you showing up in google. Even as simple as setting up your google map for your business with having a website will direct traffic to you in a very short time frame giving you an edge over all of your competitors.

I have posted below some common queries and you can see the current results for your self.

The Results

Doing a quick search in google for Pet Stores Saint John NB, brings up three pet stores and only one has it’s own website. However the one website is dedicated to the chain and doesn’t give me clear information on the local store.

Searching for Dog Breeders Saint John NB does not bring up any dedicated business or website, but a  few kijiji ads.

Searching for Kennels Saint John NB brings up a good listing and a two that have websites so based on that query I would select Binbrook Camp Kennel s they were the only website that quickly gave me information however it is mis-leading as it’s actually from Ontario so they need to adjust thier google map as they shouldn’t be showing up on a new brunswick search.

Light Box for your Website

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

I am now offering to setup Light Box on people’s websites. Light Box is a great way to show off your images and allow users to see a larger version that looks both clean and professional.

On The MX Way project that I recently finished working on www.themxway.com. They were looking for a way to have images zoom up to a larger size while, on a static website. After looking around at a few options light box was the best solution for the job and the great thing about this tool is it’s widely incorporated into dynamic systems such as wordpress but also can be used on static HTML websites. So if your looking for a great way to show off images on your website this might be the option for you.

Here some picture examples click on them to see light box in action.

How is your website doing?

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Ever wonder what people are looking at on your website, or how many people are seeing your special meatloaf reciepe?

Well you need an analytics system to gather this kind of information, most likely your web hosting company provides you with how many users are visiting your website. 1and1.com my webhost provides basic data so I can see how many visitors have found my different websites, but for me this doesn’t really give me the detail of what type of content visitors are looking for.

The solution for me is Google Analytic’s this not a new tool but a must have for anyone wanting to keep uptodate on the performance of thier website. I have used this since early 2006 and it’s very beneficial. Setting up is easy navigate over to Google Analytics sing up and get your javascript code, this gets added to every page on you website and it starts collecting data and the best part is it’s free. Now you may not have the skill set to add this so you can hire any web designer/developer to add this your website for a very low cost, (most likley $50 for most websites out there).

You will be well on your way to seeing all kinds of information such as what pages are popular, where your visitors are from and what keywords on google led them to your website. Here is a small sample report from Calais Events which just recently went online.

If you want your website to have Google Analytics contact me today and I will help you get it up and running for $50 for most websites out there (if you have thousands of static html pages this might not cover it :) ).
