Aliant vs Bell – who owes me money

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Well here we have it, Aliant calls back and provides proof that we paid them for the satellite receiver, an extra 10 per month for 12 months on my old bill. They apologized and said they would be talking to bell.

We also talked to bell now Bell says – “Aliant owes you your money back as they made the deal, and you have to send us back that receiver.”

Aliant says – “Bell owes you your rental fees for the last 4 years back as you purchased it, this is not the first time this problem has came up. We can’t give you your money back as it is a purchased product”

As it stands one of these companies owes me money if it’s Aliant it’s $120 and if Bell pays me it’s $144 plus taxes on both etc. etc.

So I’m a little happier with Aliant on this front as they said they would help us to retrieve our fees back but we will see what happens.

On a side note – my Internet still with Aliant hasn’t stayed connected for more than 25min in the last 3 days. They said they have no idea what the problem is.  On the Bright side Monday is the day that Rogers will hopefully save my life on the World Wide Web.

Bell and the Fees and Issues?

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

My Bell TV as you know from my epic story now, is being canceled. So since I have to give 30 days notice I figured well I might as well downgrade my channels so I don’t have to give them extra money. This is what I was told -

Their Supervisor tells me that this can’t be done you cannot have two work orders on your account at the same time,

You cannot downgrade your channels and give your 30 day cancellation notice. You have to downgrade your channels and after that happens on the 21st you can give your 30 day cancellation.

You cannot downgrade your channels before a new billing period you can upgrade them but you cannot downgrade them. Bell Company Policy’s

I am being forced to pay for all of the channels I don’t want so that they can take more money as I am getting rid of their Service, I cannot reduce my bill if I’m going to cancel, this seems very wrong to me.

They are using their position and control of my services to force me to pay more money as they know that I’m leaving. Well Bell Good-bye and you better take that Dish off the side of my house or I will remove it for you, and don’t worry were not finished yet on the Receiver you say I don’t own.

Bell joins my Aliant Troubles

Friday, January 16th, 2009

Well here is a combo Aliant/Bell issue When i signed up for my Satellite TV it was this big promotion with a value package with Aliant and Bell. I was given the option for my Satellite Receiver to either rent or add on $5 or so for 24 payments on my Aliant Bill to own it.

Well on my Bell bill it said there was a rental fee and I called them and they told me it was the price of the dish on my house. Well it’s now 4 years later and I am scheduling to cancel my service to switch to Rogers, and I”m told that my receiver isn’t mine and that I have been renting it and Aliant says I’m a liar that no way did I make monthly payments on my bill for something for Bell. So now I’m waiting for copies of my bills from Aliant from back in early 2007 that will have the monthly installment payment at the bottom to prove my case. I’ll be sure to post a pic once I get it they say up to 10 days.

One of these two companies owes me money back for this receiver and I’m telling you I have had it and this isn’t even the final issue. I have another one with Bell but it deserves it’s own post.

So if anyone else signed up you will remember getting a discount and then being kicked out of the value package and losing your discount if you did the same as me you probably don’t own your reciever and should get copies of your back Bills now.
